Non-Rotation Resistant High Performance Steel Wire Ropes
Non-Rotation Resistant wire ropes are used primarily when non
rotating or rotation resistant characteristics are not required
in multi fall reeving systems. Most of our special non rotation
resistant wire rope designs were developed to out perform the more
traditional 6 and 7 outer strand steel core wire rope constructions.
Within the group or type we have two main possibilities for rope
selection; ropes more suitable for general purpose applications
and ropes that are more application specific.
Applications:
HD 8 K and HD 8 K PPI
- Used where Non Rotating properties are not required-
short fall length, multi fall reeving systems.
- Lattice boom crane: boom hoist, main hoist (short fall
length).
- Tower crane: trolley rope.
- Container crane: hoist ropes, trolley ropes, boom hoist.
- Steel mill crane: hoist ropes.
- Deck crane, offshore crane: boom hoist.
- Mobile harbor crane and quarry dredge twin hoist systems:
hoist ropes usually in pairs of left and right hand lay.
- Can be considered for use where increased performance
is desired over traditional 6 and 7 outer strand steel
core wire rope constructions.
- PPI core protection is standard and recommended, non-PPI
version is available on request.
SC 8 and SC 8 PPI
- Used in all the same applications as HD 8 K and HD
8 K PPI where the increased performance, endurance properties
and high MBL of HD 8 K and HD 8 K PPI wire ropes are
not desired or required.
- Can be considered for use where increased performance
is desired over traditional 6 and 7 strand steel core
constructions.
- Non PPI core is standard with PPI core protection being
available on request.
LP 5
- Special 5 strand construction developed for the powered
suspended platform industry.
- Specifically designed to replace and out perform the
4 and 6 outer strand ropes used for powered suspended
platform applications.
- Powered suspended platforms and gondolas: hoist rope.
- Jaw pulling device: pulling rope.
- Overhead hoist: can be considered for some hoist rope
applications, usually in the smaller diameter range.

DP 8 K and DP 8 K PPI
- Used where Non Rotating properties are not required
and where fleet angles are small, in fixed or closed
multipart reeving systems.
- Boom hoist systems and pendant ropes
- Overhead hoists.
- Telescopic crane: boom retraction system.
- Special application specific hoist rope.
- Extremely high breaking load achieved due to special
full parallel construction.
- Great resistance to drum crushing in multi layer operations
due to high filling factor.
- High degree of flexibility due to special full parallel
construction.
- High endurance or high service life in terms of bending
cycles achieved (bending fatigue resistance) when compared
to wire ropes of 6,7 and 8 outer strand constructions
that use more traditional type steel core arraignments.
- Supplied with or with out PPI. PPI version should be
highly considered due to the stabilizing effect of the
plastic layer and for greater service life.
- Due to the specific constructional properties of full
parallel laid wire ropes: sensitive to induced torque
and twist, low resistance to the fleet angle effect,
Premier Wire Rope should be consulted to ascertain equipment
/ wire rope application suitability.
DP 10 K
- Main properties are the same as DP 8 K offered in
10 outer strand construction.
- Developed to fit specific OEM wire rope specifications
/ applications.
